Take a Virtual Tour of a Custom Whitney D
This custom Whitney, featuring the D elevation, was recently completed in Fayette County. This three bed, two bath home features beautiful color choices and customizations throughout it's 1,862 square feet.
Custom Options and Alterations
One of the changes this family made was choosing the formal dining room with alternate kitchen layout. On the standard Whitney plan, the utility room sits at the front of the house and the dining area at the rear with the kitchen between the two. The original dining area was open to the kitchen as well as the living room. In this alteration, the dining area was moved to the front of the home and walled off from the rest of the home. The kitchen moved to the rear and a larger island was added. The utility now sits between the kitchen and dining room.
This family also chose to extend the rear covered porch, allowing them large, covered outdoor areas on both the front and rear of the home to relax and entertain. Double sidelights were added to the front door, creating a beautiful entry way into their home that also helps bring in more natural light.
Adjustments were made in the master bedroom and master bathroom to allow for wheelchair accessibility as well. Other changes made include adding a French door and a ceiling fan in the dining room, and adding larger windows to the living room.
