The county of Jasper is a region on the far east side of Texas full of natural beauty, with 33,000 residents. Its primary city, Jasper, is referred to as “The Jewel of the Forest”. Jasper County features water activities, birding, and golfing for recreation along the Sam Rayburn Reservoir, B.A. Steinhagen Lake, and Martin Dies State Park. Unique events include the Butterfly Festival in October, the Azalea Festival in March, and the Magnolia Festival in April. It is often revered as being affordable, yet offers a high quality of life.
