Fayette County
History is a big draw in Fayette County, and despite being a small-town region of 25,000 residents, there is certainly no shortage of things to do and places to see. The city of La Grange hosts the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, and along with Schulenburg, is a great place to learn about the history of polka music. The towns of Round Top, Winedale, Fayetteville, Flatonia, and Warrenton also all feature a variety of museums, and several of the county’s towns host interesting annual events. Other points of interest include the “painted churches” and Lake Fayette.
