With the Red River along the northern border and both Lake Nocona and Lake Amon G. Carter within the county lines, Montague County is full of opportunities for boating, fishing, and watersports.  Quail, turkey and deer hunting are all popular outdoors activities, and there are multiple museums, car shows, wineries, art galleries, historical sites, and scenic drives to entertain the whole family.  If you crave more excitement, there is even a dirt track for motorcycle races.  The county’s population of 19,500 is relatively spread out, making it a very spacious place to live.
