Anderson County
At nearly 60,000 people, Anderson County has varying elevations shaped by the Trinity and Neches Rivers. The most populated city is Palestine; it provides the Texas State Railroad Depot a scientific balloon station, a Museum for East Texas Culture, and a yearly hot pepper festival. There is an easy commute to Tyler from Frankston, with the University of Tyler extension and vocational-technical schools located in this county, too. There are two wildlife management areas in the county with plentiful trails, fishing, and hiking, and even alligator fishing and a drive-thru safari.
