Named after a mysterious rock outcrop with debatable origins, Rockwall County has over 100,000 residents, but is Texas’ smallest county by size.  Despite this, its proximity to Dallas, easy commute, and large lakeside communities make it a great escape for city workers looking to slow down.  Along with local breweries and wineries, you won’t want to miss the Blase Family Farm, complete with seasonal berry picking, pumpkin patches, scavenger hunts, hay rides, corn mazes, and a petting zoo.  Lake Ray Hubbard is also along the western edge of the county, with several parks and opportunities for a variety of activities.
