Do I need a building permit?
If your land is within a floodplain, you are required to submit a flood development permit application prior to construction. You will also need to file an on-site septic facility permit with the county.
Can Tilson Homes file the building permit for me?
Yes, we can submit the flood development permit application on your behalf. If you choose for us to install your septic system, we can also file this permit application for you. If you are installing your own septic system, you will be required to submit the application.
How long will it take for a building permit to get approved?
Permit approval usually takes 3-4 weeks in Bexar County.
How do I apply for a 911 address in Bexar County?
You can find instructions for obtaining your 9-1-1 address on the City of San Antonio's website.
Who should I talk to about connecting electricity?
For electrical set up on their land, most of our customers choose Oncor Electric Delivery Company.
How do I get water on my property?
In Bexar County, we see all kinds of water supplies. Some areas have county water while others have individual or neighborhood wells. If you’re unsure about what is available for you land, it’s best to ask your future neighbors.
