With 20,000 residents, Tyler County contains part of the Big Thicket National Preserve and lies along B.A. Steinhagen Lake. Unique events include the dogwood festival in the spring, frontier frolics in September, and gospel music fest in June. There are several parks, art galleries, and museums in Woodville as well, which lies at the center of the county. Timber, cattle, blueberries, and hay sustain the county’s economy.
